I am a graduate specialising in the design, production and publication of various forms of new media content. Having been involved in producing graphical and textual content for a wide variety of media including print, CD DVD, and web-based services, I am in the process of attaining a Microsoft Certified Internet Webmaster qualification to further enhance my ability to understand and implement advanced web technologies in our ever more Internet-reliant world of today. My main skills lie with incorporation of digitised-media into web-based interfaces, coding in HTML and CSS and having an understanding of Flash Actionscript, through studying for my CIW qualification I am also learning to fully utilise PHP, ASP, XML, and Javascript, as well as SQL and other server-based services into my web work. The position on offer would mean that I would be able to combine my technical abilities with one of my biggest passions.

I have had a strong interest in the Games Workshop hobby for many years, picking up my first copy of White Dwarf 15 years ago, becoming instantly fascinated by the rich and complex world that I had discovered. A keen model maker from a young age I was enthralled by the detail and character of the models more so than the gaming side of the hobby, although as I was growing up I learnt the rules and became an avid gamer of the many incarnations of the games that were being produced, seeing the model range grow exponentially through the advancements of production techniques and the hobby?s expansion across Europe and the US.

My Digital Media Batchelor?s degree and A2 in Media Studies has meant that I am able to create various forms of mediated content, but at the same time I am able to study, dissect, and analyse the language of media and how an audience can be manipulated through the subtleties of advertising and marketing techniques prevalent today. Through multiple marketing and advertising modules across 5 years of study I have developed an understanding of the importance of successful promotion and the rewards that it can bring. The web in particular has become a highly important part of our consumer society, allowing an organisation to reach out to a consumer base on a global level; however it has meant that there is now a heavier emphasis on textual content rather than visual imagery to provide insight and to entice the consumer. With Citadel Miniatures, where the fictional universes are brimming with rich fantasy and character and every product range is competing against each other, the emphasis on delivering appealing content that can sell a new product in a few lines of summary text is paramount.

Having achieved grade ?A? at AS level in English, receiving full marks in descriptive narrative modules, I have an ability to describe the qualities of a product to a high standard. When combined with my understanding of media advertising, technical abilities in web design and my passion for and knowledge of the hobby, I believe that I am highly suitable for the position of Games Workshop global web sales copy writer. I look forward to hearing from you.
